While the Springdale Public Schools Education Foundation's mission is "To promote the highest quality of education in the Springdale Schools by supporting the teaching process, providing additional educational resources, and engaging a broad base of community support", its focus is twofold in nature. First SPSEF supports the teaching process by attracting private and philanthropic funds to expand educational programs that fall outside the Springdale Public Schools normal operating budget. In 2012 the Foundation funded $20,000 of classroom and school-wide grants that promote student achievement. In 2013 the Foundation partnered with Tyson Foods inc., Cox Communications, and the Truity Education Foundation to provide more than $75,000 in funding for nearly 50 innovative grants.
SPSEF also works with donors to create scholarships that will help Springdale students attend college. In 2012, SPSEF awarded $21,000 to 17 graduates. In 2013, the Foundation's Scholarship Endowment grew to over $1,000,000, allowing the Foundation to award nearly $30,000 to 26 of Springdale's most deserving graduates. The SPSEF Board of Directors would like to thank all of our 2013 DONORS for their continued support!
